A good field of twenty three members and guests competed in a stroke event sponsored by Springvale Vineyards. Sally Siepen and Peter Donaldson were the popular winners of the Lyne Trophy which was originally donated to the club by Club stalwart and life member Cliff Lyne and his wife Bev. The tradition of the event has been supported and carried on by Lyn and Rod Lyne.
The Club is most appreciative of the ongoing support and sponsorship from Springvale. Peter was a previous winner some years ago, with his excellent score of net 55; he thoroughly deserves to have his name on the trophy once again. Sally won the Ladies’ competition with an outstanding score of 58, keeping up the family tradition. Overall runner up for the second consecutive week was Mike Woolveridge. The best gross score was carded by Doug McKillop with an impressive 70 strokes.
Jim Morris 59, Ray Dart and Mat Gall 61 and Jim Miley 62 were the winners of balls down the line. Nearest to the pin winners were Scott Riley and Chris Weeding.
During the presentations Bruce Digney and Peter Donaldson were once again recognised for their outstanding contribution to the Club.
